Production software is a business operation.

PureHome operated a customer-facing e-commerce platform where performance, availability, release quality, and delivery speed were not separate engineering concerns. They directly affected the business.

The role spanned technology and operations rather than stopping at product planning or software architecture. That meant working on the application, production environment, deployment process, release discipline, and the coordination required to keep new work moving without sacrificing reliability.

Architecture, code, deployment, and operations stayed connected.

Production reliability

Reliability and performance engineering helped bring the platform to 99.9% availability with sub-second page-load performance.

Deployment automation

Script-based AWS deployment work automated roughly 95% of deployment activity and made releases repeatable rather than artisanal.

Release discipline

Build and release processes were reduced to under an hour, supporting weekly or bi-weekly releases and substantially shorter idea-to-production cycles.

Cross-functional operations

Technology work was coordinated across leadership, operations, design, marketing, customer-facing teams, and an engineering organization of roughly 15 people.
